SOME OBJECTIONS
UPPER HUTT EXTENSION
Several objections have been lodged to the Upper Hutt Borough Council's petition to extend its boundaries to take in 3370 acres, which would more than double the size of the borough. According to procedure, the council has advertised its intentions, and objections have been lodged with the Minister of Internal Affairs. A petition asking for the inclusion of the additional territory in the borough has been forwarded to the GovernorGeneral, and it is expected that a boundaries commission will be set up about March to hear objections and evidence' and make recommendations. The territory which the borough seeks to incorporate and which will bring the total area to 5535 acres, includes the Trentham Military Camp, the Wellington Racing Club's, course, the golf links, and the county side of Heretaunga, St. Patrick's College, and the Home of Compassion.
