HELP FROM BRITAIN
GREEKS LOSING FAITH
Rec. 9 a.m.
LONDON, Dec. I§.
A tram strike in Athens which was declared last night ended today when a 500 per cent/increase on the wages fixed last May was granted.
This'reflects the Greek economic situation, the deterioration of which, says the Associated Press correspondent in Athens, is a result of a growing feeling that Britain will not grant financial assistance to Greece and also lack of confidence in the future of th« country-
Stating that the gold sovereign 'last night rocketed to 110.000 drachmas on a ' the black Bourse, the correspondent expresses the opinion that the situation may affect the stability of, th« Sofoulis Government.
