Reticence is still being observed regarding the Foreign Ministers' talks, but Moscow newspapers are giving prominenpe to news from the Far East, which may be a pointer, to matters under discussion, says the correspondent of "The Times." .
Mr. Bevin, Mr. Byrne's, and Mr. Molotov lunched together at the Spiridonovskaya Palace at an informal, cordial gathering, says, Reuters Moscow correspondent. The luncheon preceded the regular session of the Three Power Conference.
Mr. Byrnes last night had a short private meeting with Mr. Molotov. It is understood that the atmosphere of all the meetings so far has been most friendly, with much good-natured banter. Mr. Byrnes has acquired four words of Russian, "soglasen," meaning "agreed," "da" and "nyet/' meaning "yes" and "no," and "khoroshb," meaning "good/ Mr. Bevin has got as far as "da" and "nyet." Mr. Molotov understands a fair amount of English, and uses "0.X." and "Good-bye." The British delegation is still in difficulties, as all the staff is still held up in Berlin by the weather, and only the heads of the mission and several assistants have arrived in Moscow.
