TRAVELLING TIME FOR HOUSEWIVES

(To the Eclifor.)

Sir, —Three cheers for the letter written by "Auie Alteram Partem." It is no wonder why we prefer to perish rather than populate. I, feel a near relative to a. packhorse when I am struggling nome'with my baskets laden with groceries, vegetables, bread, and meat every day. Only the most robust woman can combine these packhorse duties with child bearing. There is no question as to who is the weaker sex when we see the butcher or baker working comfortably in the protection of his shop, while we v/omen are forced to face the rough winter elements to get our requirements. Supposing the women folk decided to work a 40-hour week? Let's!—l am, etc.. . WEARY.
