PUBLIC NOTICES, WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL~~~ CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR ARRANGEMENTS, 1945-46. ■VTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that subject to -.^ the arrangements set out hereunder the public offices of the. various Departments of the Wellington City Corporation will be closed from Saturday, December 22, 1945, until Tuesday, January 1, 134 a, both days inclusive. RATES OFFICE, TOWN HALL: The Rates Office will be open for the receipts of monies on Friday, December 28, 1945, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. CITY ENGINEER'S DEPARTMENT: The public office of the City Engineer's Department, Mercer St., will be open for the issue of permits and the receipt of monies on Friday, December 28, 1945, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. When the office is closed, persons are requested to ring telephone No. 51-729, Corporation Yard, regarding matters requiring urgent attention. Refuse tips will be open on Thursday, 27th, Friday, 28th, Monday, December 31, 1945, and from and including Wednesday, January 2, 1946, normal hours will be observed at the tips. TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: The Traffic Office, Mercer St., will be open on Friday, December 28, 1915, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. for the issue of drivers' licences. Inquiries concerning traffic matters may be made up to 10 p.m. on any day during the i holiday periods by ringing telephone Nos. 1 46-507 and 46-508. SANITARY DEPARTMENT: The public office of the Sanitary Department will be open on Friday, December 28, 1945, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Inquiries concerning any matters dealt with by this Department on any other day during the holiday period may be made by ringing telephone No. 41-432 or telephone No. 25-074. PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE DEPARTMENT: The public office will be open on Friday, December ,28, 1945. Inquiries concerning urgent plumbing and drainage matters may be made on Thursday, December 27, 1945, by ringing telephone' No. 43-190. ELECTRICITY ' AND TRAMWAYS DEPART,MENT: Electricity House, Cuba St., will be closed to the public from 4.30 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 1945, and will reopen on Wednesday, January 2, 1940. Bowen House will be closed from 4.30 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 1945, and will reopen on Monday, January 14, 1946. The Head Office of the Tramways Department will reopen on Thursday, January 3, 1946. I PUBLIC LIBRARIES : The Central Library and Branch Libraries will bo closed on Sunday, 23rd, Monday, 24th, Tuesday, 25th, and Wednesday, December 26, 1945, and on Sunday, 30th. Monday, December 31, 1945, and Tuesday, January 1, 1946. CEMETERIES DEPARTMENT: For information regarding interments and cremations during .the holiday period, Funeral Directors and others are requested to communicate with the Sexton of the Karori Cemetery, telephone No. 26-648. GOLF LINKS: The Golf Links at Bcrhampore and at Adelaide Rd. (Learners' Links) will be closed on Christmas Day. CITY RESERVES: Any inquiries regarding City Reserves during the holiday period may be made by ringing telephone Nos. 41-576, 24-354, or 42-363. BATHS: The Te Aro, Thorndon, Karori, Khandallah Baths, and the Bathing Pavilion at Oriental Bay will be closed on Christmas Day.
