POLICE AND BANDITS
BATTLE IN BRITISH ZONE OF OCCUPATION
Rec. 1.40 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 19, An armed battle between police and bandits in the British occupation zone occurred last night, when a police patrol arrived as a gang of 10 was leaving a plundered farm, reports Reuters Hamburg correspondent. The gangsters ! opened fire and the police replied, killing one gangster and capturing one. One policeman was wounded. A four-day special curfew was imposed at Luneberg after a British soldier was attacked from behind by two men armed with sticks.
