TRENTHAM CAMP
STATE HOUSING SCHEME
During recent weeks suggestions have been made that the Housing Construction Department may not be going ahead with its scheme for the construction of States houses on the Trentham Camp site. When the matter was referred to the Minister of Works (Mr. Semple) today he said there was no foundation for suggestions of that kind. The camp site as announced previously, he said, would be used for* housing purposes, but it was too early yet for him to be able to say when actual work would begin. A good deal of preparatory and planning work was necessary, and that had not yet been completed.
