GOVERNOR ASKS PEACE

(By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright.) Rec. 11.15 a.m. BATAVIA, Nov. 28. Bearing a white flag, the Indonesian Governor of West Java arrived at the headqixarters of the 37th Brigade at Bandoeng and requested the cessation of hostilities, says a British communique. The commander informed him that the Indonesians must evacuate the residential area northward of a line running east-west across the region by noon tomorrow. Any Indonesians found there after that time would be liable to be shot. The communique adds that the Governor was unable to assent or make proposals.
