TWO GORSE FIRES TODAY
Gorse fires in and around Wellington continue to create a problem for the Wellington Fire Brigade. Calls were received to two this morning, one, at 7.57, to the corner of Hector and Ludlam Streets, Seatoun, and the other, at 8.55, to a hillside blaze between Awarua Street and Simla Crescent. The latter took some time to bring under control.
