BRITAIN'S TRADE
CHANGE IN CONTROL
INCREASING PRODUCTION
LONDON, November 27,
It is understood that the British Government will shortly announce that the Department of Overseas Trade, as such, is to disappear, and its functions will be transferred to the Board of Trade. The President of the Board of Tradje. Sir Stafford Cripps, said that British industries are making good progress in expanding civilian production. The change-over from war to peace had been expected to take nine months, but the preparatory work was now going on well, and results would soon be seen in goods in the shops. He said he had appointed a strong committee of industrialist leaders to inquire into the setting up of a British institute of management.
