R.A.F. CRASHES
FORTY LIVES LOST
Rec. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 14. At least 40 persons, many of whom were servicemen, were killed in three R.A.F. plane crashes. Twenty-eight were killed when a Stirling troop-carrying aircraft crashed in taking off from Castel Benito, Libya, for Britain.
A Mustang exploded in mid-air over Hendon and crashed on houses, tha pilot being killed.
An R.A.F. plane crashed on the Shaerbeek Jockey Club building in Brussels, killing eight members of tha R.A.F. and three Belgian civilians.
