BANDSMAN AND HIS DOG
P.A. , AUCKLAND, This Day. Fluff, dog of Bandsman George Plimer, who is at present in Cornwall Hospital recovering from privations suffered as a prisoner of war in Japan, is now taking an interest in life again. The dog is quarantined at Somes Island, Wellington. When he was first parted from his master he refused to eat and fretted beneath Plimer's cot on the hospital ship which brought them to New Zealand. "I've had letters from two ladies who've been visiting the island to see Fluff," said Bandsman Plimer today. "They say his condition is a lot better and that he's made friends with the soldiers on the island." Plimer added he was confident Fluff would not forget him, and added he had heard unofficially that the dog might be coining to Auckland to join him.
