COLLECTION OF REFUSE
Sh-—During the war years it was understandable that the City Council could not undertake collections of refuse from the suburbs to ' the same extent that obtained in pre-war years, but surely an effort could now be made to shorten the interval between collections. As a resident of Karori I have noted that the refuse is sometimes collected at fortnightly intervals. For instance, this month a collection was made one Friday and the next call fourteen days later. When the garbage tin, or tins, are full, not everyone is prepared to fill his garden with, kitchen refuse and other rubbish at this time of the year, and in the interests of health, -especially with the approach of the summer /months, I think prompt steps should be taken to make at least weekly collections. — I am, etc., KARORI.
