LOCAL SECTION MEETING
Remits for the annual conference of the Public Service Association and the election of delegates were dealt with at the monthly meeting of the Wellington section committee. Eightythree departmental representatives attended. Mr. J. P. Lewin was in the chair. Conference delegates were elected as follows:—Messrs. Boyd (Internal Affairs)., Broadley (Social Security), Bryant (National Service), Earle (Broadcasting), Griffin (Public Works), O'Connor (Standards Institute), Thompson (Native Department(, Watts (National Development), Wheeler (Social Security), White (Income Tax), Wiffin (Social Security), Miss Ross (Child Welfare) and Mrs. Bailey (Physical Welfare). As national office bearers, it was decided to nominate Messrs. J. K. Hunn (president), Lewin, and White (vice-presi-dents), and Menzies (treasurer). Thirteen remits were passed for the conference. It was decided that a meeting of all public servants in Wellington be held at the close of the conference or soon after to hear reports. Mr. V. R. Wiffin was elected vicechairman of the Wellington section, vice Mr. H. O. Wansborough, who has been transferred to Auckland. Mr. A. H. O'Keefe was appointed Wellington representative on the national executive.
