TRAFFIC GOING THROUGH

The Post and Telegraph Department today issued the following statement on being shown the cable:— •

"On first tests the conditions were favourable and comparable with those that existed when' we previously worked London through Sydney. This time of the year is the worst period for radio communications, being that of the equinox; there might be a firstclass service one day and bad conditions the next, but. that applies always with radio.

"Traffic is always put through when conditions are favourable. Conditions between New Zealand and Sydney have been quite satisfactory since the service was resumed, and there has been a considerable amount between New Zealand and Sydney. There has only bean one call from New Zealand to London since the service was resumed ,and it was quite satisfactory."
