L. Macalister, chairman of the reserves committee, which «aye the matter particular consideration said that the committee was unanimously of opinion that m view of the undertaking given by the council that a poll would be taken of all ratepayers upon the question of the building of a full-sized Olympic pool, which would cost at least £100,000, the council should not accede to the reauest for a grant of £5000 for the lesser baths, but that should the Boys' Institute make its own plans to reinstate the baths the council should consider the reinstatement of the subsidy previously given in recognition of the facilities offered.
