2ND N.Z.E.F. TEAM

MATCHES IN BRITAIN

The Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) announced today that approval had been given to General Freyberg to accept an invitation from Service and Rugby authorities in the United Kingdom for a team from the 2nd N.Z.E.F. to tour EJngland, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. Tentative arrangements' have been made for matches against teams from the Navy, Army, and Air Force, Oxford and Cambridge Universities, London hospitals, and certain Welsh, Scottish, arid" English county teams. In addition there will be international fix- ' tures against England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, and the possibility ".. of-.extending the tour to France and — Germany for games against the French . army, Paris University, and- the British Liberation...Army is also being considered.
