APPOINTMENT QUESTIONED
OC PALMERSTON N.. This Day. Among those who applied for the position of secretary to the Palmerston North Metropolitan Milk Board were three ex-servicemen, but the successful applicant was a man without war experience. When the board met on Monday night it received a letter from the Palmerston North branch of the R.S.A. seeking an explanation. The chairman, Mr. A. E. Mansford, stated that the appointment had been a unanimous one tnd the qualifications of the returned men did not measure up to those of the person appointed. The board was the best judge of the suitability of the applicants. The R.S.A. is to be advised accordingly.
