PLANE PRODUCTION
JAPANESE RISE AND FALL
Rec. 11 a.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 4. Tokio radio says that the Japanese production of planes was 550 a month in December, 1941, 2857 in June 1944, 2000 early in 1945, and 1120 at the end of the war. The Super-Fortress raids and the deterioration of shipping caused a decline after July, 1944, and a further decrease occurred early in 1945 because of the earthquake in the Tokio area and the evacuation of factories.
