TROOPS' ARRIVAL

WELLINGTON & LYTTELTON

Following on the telegrams that have already been dispatched advising next-of-kin that certain troops will arrive soon, it is announced by the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) that the vessel conveying prisoners of war from the United Kingdom will reach Wellington early tomorrow morning. The ship carrying members of the Expeditionary Force from the Middle East will reach Lyttelton also early tomorrow morning," where the South Island personnel will be disembarked, and the steamer will arrive at Wellington with the North Island personnel on Thursday morning. In each instance arrangements have been made for the transportation of the troops to their destinations as soon as possible after they disembark. Mr. Jones will leave by plane today for Christchurch to meet the Middle East troops on their arrival at Lyttelton. He will return to Wellington by air later tomorrow.
