URGENT RADIO REQUEST TO SINGAPORE
Rec. 10.10 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 3. New Delhi radio sent a message to Allied officers who were dropped byparachute in Singapore, advising them that a flying-boat would land at Singapore on September 4. The radio requested an urgent reply message regarding sick on Singapore and also details about the Hahaur internment camp in Malaya.

The surrender of Truk was accomplished without incident. The Japanese envoys were not identified. Preliminary arrangements were made with Rear-Admiral Sumikawa, chief of staff of the Japanese 4th Fleet. This capitulation eliminated Japan's strongest by-passed garrison.
