SPECIAL PLANE FOR INJURED
MAN
P.A. GREYMOUTH, September 3. A Public Works employee, Mr.. Farr, of Jackson's Bay, almost severed his foot with an axe this afternoon. As no Air Travel pilot was available, one being ill and the other on the Nelson, ran, the Minister of Transport, Mr. O'Brien, arranged to send a special plane from Wellington to Okuru, and the injured man was taken to Okuru, flown to Hokitika, and admitted to hospital. His condition was reported tonight as serious.
