MATCH AT DUNEDIN
P.A. DUNEDIN, September 3. After a display marred by much clinching and indecisive hitting, Laurie Bolger, Mataura, lOst 731b, beat Jack Duncan, Ngaruawahia, lOst 621b, in a professional welterweight boxing contest over 12 three-minute rounds, on points. The attendance was over 3000. A somewhat colourless bout livened up from the eighth round onward, and Duncan stood, up to fairly heavy punishment in the -eleventh round, but came back strongly in the twelfth. Bolger's strong finishing effort, however, assured him of the decision.
