NEW WATERFRONT HOURS
Night shifts and Saturday afternoon and Sunday work on all but American ships will cease this week on the New Zealand waterfronts. The position concerning American ships will be reviewed in two months. A Waterfront Control Commission Order regarding the shorter w.orking, hours .is expected this week. Men working night shifts will continue till finished, but no night gangs will be engaged for new jobs. It is likely that by arrangement ships expected to finish loading on Saturday afternoons will work till 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. ________»««»——.
