NORTHERN PERSIA
SCENE OF DISTURBANCES
LONDON September 2. Correspondents report disturbances in northern Persia by the members of a left wing organisation, mainly industrial workers and peasants. They quote a Persian army spokesman who complained that when 200 police were sent from Teheran to restore order they were stopped half-way by Soviet troops. The spokesman said telegraph communications between • Teheran and part of the Soviet occupied northern provinces had been interrupted.
