Referring to the abolition of the Office of War Information, the "New York Herald Tribune's" Washington correspondent says that President Truman has transferred his own overseas .organisation and functions to the State Department, , thus laying the foundation of the first peacetime propaganda agency of the U.S.A. The President said: "The nature of present day foreign relations makes it essential for the United States to maintain informational activities abroad as an integral part of the conduct of our foreign affairs.
