WOOL BOARD'S APPROVAL
An outline of the plans proposed for the handling of accumulated wool stocks concurrently with the marketing of the new clip was given by the chairman of the New Zealand "Wool Board (Mr. N. R. Jamieson) at a meeting of the electoral college of the board this week.
After considerable discussion, the following resolutions were carried unanimously:—"This electoral college desires, to congratulate the delegates who represented the Wool Board with the New Zealand delegation which attended the London conference on the manner in which they represented the industry and also endorses the board's action in accepting on behalf of the industry the conclusions of the London wool conference"; and "The electoral college is not in favour of the Goyernment taking over the wool or giving us a guaranteed price for it." In regard to the particular form of local subsidiary organisation to be adopted following the establishment of the London joint organisation, the chairman explained the plan tentatively discussed by f the board for the establishment of a composite industryGovernment body. After discussion, the meeting approved the plan submitted by the board for the period of disposal of the stocks of wool, but registered the view that thereafter the board should become the marketing authority.
