WAR PRISON CAMPS

Tokio radio states that Allied prisoners of war and internees in Japan are refusing to obey the camp authorities. The Japanese Government has informed General Mac Arthur of this, urging him to instruct the troops to maintain order. The Government asserted that untoward incidents might happen if they obtained arms and ammunition. The Japanese say that prisoners at a camp at Kobe have refused since August 19 to listen to the orders of the camp authorities. They ran away in small groups, broke - into storehouses and stole canned foods and beer, and entered civilian homes and annoyed women and girls.
