MARIST BEAT HOSPITAL
Marist, which next Saturday will play Western (Canterbury) for the Chatham Cup, beat Hospital 1-0 in the Wellington Football Association's first division championship at the Basin Reserve on Saturday, and as a result are only one point behind Railways in the Venus Shield competition. Railways, however, have played more games ,than Marist. A feature of the junior grade matches was the win by Marist over Diamond in the North Island final of the Boys Chatham Cup. As a result, Marist will play in the "double" at the Basin Reserve on Saturday, with the two Chatham Cups at stak-^ Saturday's results were: — VENUS SHIELD. Marist 1, Hospital X). Railways 3. Hutt 3.
