CHAMPIONSHIP CUP FOR R.A.F. SQUADRON

LONDON, August 24.

Over one million miles was covered in 7500 hours without accident by a Dakota squadron of the No. 229 R.A.F. Transport Command Group in India, commanded by Wing Commander Alfred Harding, D.F.C., of Wellington. The squadron thus became the fourth holder of the group championship cup. which Air Marshal Sir Ralph Cochrane presented at a special parade on Delhi airfield.

The squadron operates daily services from Delhi round the east and west coasts of India to' Ceylon. It flew 2.000.000 miles in the first two months of this year. The group flew 8,500,000 miles in the year which ended with Japan's surrender, and was entirely free from fatal accidents.
