ACCESS TO WHARVES
Sir,—Judging from the statement of the Commissioner of Police, it looks as if our worst fears regarding the continuance of wartime controls are to be realised. The Commissioner stated that there was no possible chance of the wharves at Wellington being opened to the public, and gave as a reason the risk of fire. If the people of Wellington are prepared to accept that as an adequate reason, all one can say is, more fools they.—l am etc WATCHMAN. "
