EUROPA AS TROOPSHIP
LONDON, July 8. The liner Europa will be used in the autumn as a troopship for the redeployment of ' American soldiers. The 52,000-ton liner, once the fastest on the transatlantic run, is expected to make two round trips a month. She carried a peacetime load of 2126 passengers, but is being increased to a capacity of more than 5000. The Europa moved recently for the first time in four years from Bremerhaven to a nearby dry-dock, where German workmen are reconditioning her.
