ON CHINESE COAST
JAPANESE LANDING
CHUNGKING, July 7
The Central News agency reports that Japanese marines landed on the coast of South-east China, 140 miles west of Formosa, in an apparent attempt to frustrate Allied plans for an invasion of the Asiatic mainland. Several enemy parties landed in Fukien Province, near Changpu, an important coastal highway centra 35 miles south-west of Amoy. The landings were made on June 30.
