JAPANESE COMPLAINTS
LONDON, July 8. A picture of Japan under the tightening pressure vof war is given by a Tokio correspondent of the official Russian Tass agency, based on leading Tokio newspapers. He quotes one paper as saying that the bombing of the smaller Japanese centres is just as grave as the attacks on the major centres, because they are all part of Japan's production network, and the mining of the harbours of Japan was grave because it was aimed at cutting off Japan from the rest of Asia. Another extract takes the Japanese Minister of Agriculture to task because he said recently there would be no reduction in Japan's staple foods, and now a reduction has been made. The Japanese people, the paper maintained, should not be bluffed about this or any other difficulty. Another Tokio paper complains that the Japanese authorities were distributing large quantities of soya beans end corn, but were not telling the ipeople how to cook them, with the result that many factory workers were having stomach trouble and staying
