CROWDED AIRWAYS
PLANES LEAVING EUROPE
Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, July 8. American twin-engined aircraft going from Europe to the Pacific are using the South Atlantic route, because the North Atlantic is crowded with four-engined bombers returning to the United States. Headquarters of the United States Transport Command states that since May 3500 aircraft, carrying 51,184 persons have returned to America. Only two'aircraft under the control of the European division of the United States Transport Command have been lost.
