REPORTED ENEMY ACTIVITY
SYDNEY, July 7,
Shipping- activity in the port of Sydney was suspended about 9.3© on Thursday night, following reports of "enemy activity" along the coast. South Head warned shipping not to enter or leave the port. . Thousands of residents of Manly and district wishing to return from the city by ferry boats were forced to use trams and buses to reach their homes. The Transport Department made lastminute arrangements to ease the heavily increased demand. Normal harbour traffic was resumed next morning. _____„_____
