ICE-CREAM WORKERS' AWARD
Ice-cream Manufacturers' Employees Award the hours are fixed at 44 pei week from October 1 to March 31, anc at 36 hours from April 1 to Septembei 30. Any male worker whose norma: hours of work commence later thar 2 p.m. shall be paid 2s 6d per das extra. Adult males' wages range froir £6 11s for ice-cream makers to £.1 2s 6d per week for general hands, representing increases of from 11s tc 12s 6d. A general hand required tc work for more than one hour and less than four hours in the freezing rooir must be paid Is a day extra, and iJ over four hours per day, 2s per daj extra. The wage rates for junioi males range from £1 6s 6d per week for those under 16 years of age tc £3 19s per week, representing increases of from 6s 6d per week to 18s 6d per week, and for junior females the rates are from £1 3s 6d under 11 years of age, to £2 Is 6d per week, representing increases of from 6s to 13s 6d per week. The wages of adult females are increased 10s per week Any female worker exceeding 40 hour; per week, exclusive of overtime, mus^ be paid for the extra hours worked at overtime rates in addition to the weekly wage. Females in responsible charge of workers are to be paid 5s per week up to 10 workers, and 10: per week up to 20 workers, over 2( workers by agreement. Females employed between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m are to receive 2s per hour. The wages are subject to'the Court's two genera! orders. The award does not apply tc any worker in receipt of £425 a year or'over.
