MR. F. WILDING, K.C.
P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, July 5. The death has occurred of Mr. Frederick Wilding. New Zealand's senior King's Counsel. He had a record of more than 60 years' active legal practice, commencing in Christchurch in 1879.
Mr. Wilding was born in Wales. He was one of the best all-round athletes in Herefordshire in his younger days, being a cricketer, footballer, oarsman, sprinter, and tennis player. After coming to New Zealand in 1880 he played tennis with great success, being five times doubles champion with R. W. Harman. He partnered his son Anthony, the famous Davis Cup player, in the doubles at Prague in 1906.
