Australian assault troops in Borneo are tearing deeper into the rich oilfield areas of Sarawak, while the troops who made the -earlier landing at Brunei Bay, 80 miles further north, have thrust further inland. What is potentially the biggest oilfield in the British Empire is being approached by the Australians south of Mjri. The Japanese left the Miri oilfield after destroying installations. With the crushing of resistance on this island two days after the Okinawa victory the next blow may be aimed at Sumatra, main island of the Dutch East Indies and stepping stone to Singapore. British naval planes have bombed Sumatra in an operational assault, according to the latest Southeast Asia communique. New Delhi radio says that new secret invasion craft are being built
