LEADING ACE HONOURED
LONDON, June. 22. Major Richard Bong, the outstand* ing United States fighter' aoe, has -ibeea awarded the D.F.C. by the King for hit . services in the South-west Pacific. Major Bong shot down 40 enemy planes before he retired from combat flying '".■ last February. His number of kills ' exceeds that of any other American or British ace during the war. •
