WIDELY DISOBEYED
NON-FRATERNISATION RULE Rec. 11.50 a.m. LONDON, June 8.
General Eisenhower's non-fraternisa-tion rule has been widely disobeyed by Americans since YE Day, says the British United Press correspondent in Germany. "During the past four months, in. almost every sector of the United States front, I have witnessed- a pronounced change in the average soldier from reluctant compliance to almost open contempt of the rule," he says. "The troops have more leisure now, and are stationed chiefly in resort areas, and the men feel they have a right to go gay. A bit of spring has given the average German girl, who is not generally a pin-up study, an attractive, refreshing appearance, in cool skirts and blouses."
