AFTER LONG SERVICE
Mr. A. Ironside, divisional executive officer in the livestock division of the Department of Agriculture, who has retired after over 41 years' service in the Department, was farewelled at a staff gathering on Thursday. Mr. E. J. Fawcett, Director-General of Agriculture, in presenting Mr. Ironside with a sum of money and a fountain pen, referred to his long" and loyal service with the Department and the popularity he had attained, and tendered to him and Mrs. Ironside the best wishes of the staff for the future. Mr, Barry, director of the livestock diviJ sion, spoke along similar lines. In his reply, Mr. Ironside mentioned that he> had served under 16 of the 17 Minis-' ters of Agriculture who had taker! office in New Zealand.
