WAGES INCREASED
The Arbitration Court, in pursuance of the powers vested in it by the Economic Stabilisation Emergency Regulations, has granted increases in wage rates in the following cases: — New Zealand (except Westland and Canterbury) Oil Stores Employees: To the storemen and others, 10s a week; casual workers, 3Jd an hour. Clerical workers: Adult male rate, 10s; junior, males, 4s to 10s; adult females 10s; junior females, 4s to 10s. Journalists (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin): Subeditors and reporters, 5s to 10s 6d; readers and copy holders, 5s to 10s; photographers, 10s 6d; women journalists in charge of a department or with five years' experience, 10s 6d.
