NEW COMMANDANT
R.N.Z.A.F. HEADQUARTERS IN LONDON
Rec. 9 a.m. LONDON, May 25. Air Commodore Caldwell has arrived in London to take over the duties of Air Officer Commanding at R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters. He flew from India, where he had visited nearly 300 New Zealanders serving with R.A.F. squadrons. He also went to Ceylon and Burma. He established a liaison office at headquarters in Delhi. En route to England he visited the R.N.Z.A.F. liaison office in Cairo, and Maadi Camp. Air Commodore Caldwell, *who served with distinction with the famous 74 Squadron in the last war, is seeing .England for the first time since .1919. He intends shortly to visit the New Zealand squadrons in England and on the Continent.
