VICEREGAL. Government House, Wellington, May 25. This morning his Excellency received Colonel A. A. Tennent, N.Z.M.C., who was recently appointed honorary surgeon to the Governor-General. Goddard will, be Acting Consul. • The following appointments to the Carter Observatory Board ara announced in last night's Gazette: —Mr. E. P. Norman, Mr. M. F. Luckie, Dr. M. A. F. Barnett, Mr. C. G. G. Berry, Professor D. C. H. Florance, Dr. C. E. Adams, Professor F. F. Miles, Dr. E. Marsden. The appointments are. for a term of two years from January 1 last.
