VICEREGAL. Government House, Wellington, May 25. This morning his Excellency received Colonel A. A. Tennent, N.Z.M.C., who was recently appointed honorary surgeon to the Governor-General. Her Excellency Lady Newall presided at a meeting of the executive committee of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild held at Government House. Colonel H. A. Meyer has been assigned to.the United States Legation as military attache in relief of Colonel J. H. Nankivell. • .Mr. Jack Halligan, Consul for Norway in New Zealand, has left on a visit to Australia, and during his absence Mr. W. J. Goddard will, be Acting Consul. • The following appointments to the Carter Observatory Board ara announced in last night's Gazette: —Mr. E. P. Norman, Mr. M. F. Luckie, Dr. M. A. F. Barnett, Mr. C. G. G. Berry, Professor D. C. H. Florance, Dr. C. E. Adams, Professor F. F. Miles, Dr. E. Marsden. The appointments are. for a term of two years from January 1 last.
