SURRENDERS IN BRITAIN

Rec. 1 p.m. RUGBY, May 23.

The total number of German Üboats which have surrendered in British home and Empire ports is now 44. This does not include submarines captured in German and German-occupied ports. The published figures show that about 50 were taken at Wilhelmshaven—including 24 which were scuttled but which are recoverable — 40 at Bergen, 10 at Oslo, one at Kiel, and about 100 in bases on the French Atlantic seaboard.—B.O.W.
