U.S. PREPARING FOR SALE
Rec. 11 a.m. RUGBY, April 29. The United States Government is preparing plans under which 58,000,000' tons of wartime shipping, valued at over £4,250,000,000 sterling, may be sold on an equitable basis to the nations of the world when peace is declared, states a Washington message.
Legislation providing for the sale has been discussed by the House of Representatives Merchant Marine and Fisheries Committee. —8.0. W.
ARGENTINE CLAIMS
Rec. 9 a.m. NEW YORK, April 28. Buenos Aires authorities announced that they had squelched a plot to overthrow the present Argentine military regime, assassinate its leaders, seize their families, and establish a popular Junta.
The leader of the conspiracy is said to be General Adolfo Espindola, who, with eight retired army and navy Officers, is at present under arrest.
In Bio de Janeiro police reported that a German engineer, George Friedrich Bliss, who has been under arrest since April 9, admitted being the supervisory head of the Nazi sabotage rlng t the activities of which extended to practically every South American capital
