DISPOSAL OF ESTATE
MR, ROOSEVELT'S WILL
WASHINGTON, April .17. President Roosevelt's will, dated November 12, 1941, gives Mrs. Roosevelt the right to select any or all of his personal property and utilise it during her lifetime. The value of the estate is not disclosed.
The will sets forth that his five children each has the right to select onefifth of the residual personal property after Mrs. Roosevelt has made her selection. Any property not chosen by the widow or children shall be offered to the Government for display in the Roosevelt Library or in the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park, which was donated to the Government in 1944.
Mr. Roosevelt directed that the remainder of the estate should be held by the following trustees: Colonel James Roosevelt, Mr. Basil O'Connor, Mr. Roosevelt's former law partner, and Mr. Henry Hackctt, a Foughkcepsie solicitor, with the income from it going to Mrs. Roosevelt during her lifetime. Upon IVlrs. Roosevelt's death one-half of the principal remaining in the trust fund, together with all the accumulations of income, will be divided equally among the Roosevelt children then living. Upon the death of any Roosevelt children, their children shall receive the share to which the parent would have been entitled.
The remaining half of the principal is to be divided upon Mrs. Roosevelt's death into separate trusts to be held by trustees for the benefit of the Roosevelt children and grandchildren. Mr. Roosevelt bequeathed 5000 dollars to the St. James Church, Hyde Park.
All Mr. Roosevelt's personal property in Georgia goes to the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation, and 100 dollars goes to every Roosevelt employee. Mr. Roosevelt directed his family to leave the greater part of the personal property at Hyde Park to the Government, so that the general character of the house would be unaltered.
