SWIMMING CARNIVAL
One of the features of the Wellington Amateur Swimming Club's carnival at Te Aro Baths !on Saturday was the .new WelHugton provincial record for the 100 yards men's' breaststroke championship, created by \V. Dyson.. (Army), of lmin IDsec. The carnival was most successful, and marked the fiftieth year of operation of the club. Details are:— 200 yds Secondary School Girls' Maxwell Trophy Relay (previous holders, Wellington Girls' College) .—Wellington - Girls' College, 1; Wellington Technical College, 2; Wellington. East Girls' College, 3. Time, 2.14' 4:5. Won, by two yards. 200 yds Secondary Schoolboys' Maxwell Trophy Relay (previous holders, Wellington. College) .—Palmerston Xorth High School, 1; Wellington College A, 2: Wellington College B, 3. Time, 1.55 3-5. Won by two feet. Palmerston North not being eligible to hold the trophy, it went to Wellington College A. 100 yds Wellington Wartime Men's Breaststroke Championship (previous holder, K. Spry, Wellington Club).—W. Dyson (Army), 1; J. A. Durand (Maranui), 2; D. Dowse (Hutt), 3Time, 75sec. Dyson won by 10 yards, with two yards between second and third. The winner's time established a provincial record. 200 yds Duthie Cup, Primary Schoolboys* Relay (previous holders, Karori School). —Clyde Quay School, 1; Karori School, 2: Thorndoa School, 3.
