American Fifth Army troops in Italy have broken through elaborate German trench systems on the Apennine mountain peaks overlooking the watering place of Porretta. 28 miles southwest of Bologna, on the Postoia-Bo-logna road, state agency correspondents. The clearing of the Apennine peaks and the upper Reno Valley deprives the Germans of observation points.—
